About Us

A New Chapter Has Begun

One Rooted in Our Past & Focused on Your Future

For generations, our Credit Union has been proud to stand beside you — through milestones, memories, and every moment in between. As your trusted financial partner, we've grown together, guided by the values that shaped us and the community that inspires us every day.

To honor our legacy while embracing our vision for today and tomorrow, on Thursday, January 8, 2026, we turned the page to an exciting new chapter as we renamed from Angelina Federal Employees Credit Union to a new name and brand identity that better reflects the strength and unwavering commitment we have to serve you, and our community, even better.

as·pire (verb): to direct one's hopes or ambitions towards achieving something.

Our new name represents our continued commitment to helping our members aspire to the next level no matter what their goals, dreams or ambitions may be. Because for us – your goals are our mission. Your family is our mission. Your future is our mission. Our community is our mission.

And our logo proudly pays tribute to our heritage. Our federal employee founders began the Credit Union in 1952 with just ten postal workers and managed by R.V. Welch, the local postmaster, from his desk in Lufkin, Texas. The mission – to provide a cooperative, not-for-profit financial solution for their fellow federal employees. Throughout our 73 years, we have continued to honor and serve all federal employees, as well as their family members, and more recently expanded our reach to now serve those who live, work, worship, or attend school in Angelina, Tyler, Trinity, Cherokee, San Augustine, Nacogdoches, Jasper, Houston, and Polk Counties.

This change isn't just cosmetic. It's a bold step forward, designed to honor our roots, better represent who we are today, and where we’re headed tomorrow. But rest assured, what matters most isn’t changing: we remain a well-capitalized credit union dedicated to your financial well-being, committed to personalized service, and our deep connection to the membership and community will continue to remain at the heart of everything we do.
